Vasilevo open-air architectural and ethnographic museum is located in the village of Vasilevo in the Tver region, 76 km north-west of Tver.

Museum of Weapons in Tula

The Tula State Weapons Museum, founded in 1775, is the oldest museum of weapons in Russia and one of the main attractions of Tula. In 2012, a new building in the form of a medieval Russian helmet was constructed for the museum (Oktyabr’skaya Street, 2).

Near the building there is an exhibition of Russian military equipment of the second half of the 20th century. Inside you can learn about the history of firearms and cold steel from the 14th century to the present. Photos by: babs71.

Gus-Khrustalny is a town with a population of about 55,000 people located in the Vladimir region, about 100 km southeast of Vladimir.

In 1756, the merchant Akim Maltsov began the construction of a glass factory on the Gus River. Later, it turned into the Gusevskoy Crystal Factory and a town with the name Gus-Khrustalny grew around the factory. Photos by: Katya Utemova.

The State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky in Kaluga (Akademika Koroleva Street, 2) is the world’s first and largest space museum in Russia, created with the direct participation of S.P. Korolev and Yu. A. Gagarin.

S-189 is a submarine of Project 613 moored at Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment in St. Petersburg and converted into a museum.

Project 613 submarines (according to NATO classification: “Whiskey”) are Soviet medium-sized diesel-electric submarines built in 1951-1957. This series became the most massive in the Soviet submarine fleet (215 submarines). Photos by: deletant.

The Volga Bulgaria was a state that existed in the Middle Volga and the Kama basin in the 10th-13th centuries. The capital of the state was located on the bank of the Volga River in the town of Bulghar, about 140 km from Kazan in the present Republic of Tatarstan.

Museum of Wooden Architecture in Suzdal

The Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life, located on the bank of the Kamenka River on the outskirts of Suzdal in the Vladimir region, is one of the most visited museums in the town.

Here you can see rare monuments of wooden architecture of Vladimir-Suzdal land. The museum is not large, it has only 17 wooden buildings: churches, a merchant’s house, peasant houses with interiors of the peasant way of life, windmills, granaries, wells.

Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps located in St. Petersburg is one of the largest military museums in Russia. In total, the collection includes over 850 thousand exhibits.

The exposition was started by Peter I, who founded Zeughaus – a place for storing historical, unique and experimental artillery pieces. Today, the exposition covers the time from the 15th century to the present day. Photos by: deletant.

Arsenal is a park pavilion built in 1819-1834, designed by the architects Adam Menelas and Alexander Ton. It was used as the Imperial Weapons Museum that became one of the first museums in the country.
