22 October, 2016  // The wolf "Zabivaka", meaning "the one who scores", was chosen by Russians as the official mascot of the World Cup 2018. More than a million people took part in the vote. The wolf received 52.8% of the votes ahead of the cat and the tiger in a spacesuit.

11 October, 2016  // Stavropol was recognized as the most well-organized city in Russia as a result of the All-Russian competition "The most well-organized city (rural settlement) of Russia" held in 2015. The second place was taken by Ufa and Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk took the third place.

2 October, 2016  // According to the report on the competitiveness of the world economies, made by the experts of the World Economic Forum, the Russian roads are among the worst in the world (123rd place out of 138 countries). In 2015, about 35 thousand people were killed in road accidents on the roads of Russia.
