29 July, 2012  // Judoka Arsen Galstyan won the first Russian gold medal at the Olympics in London. Prior to this, the last success of Russian judo athletes was dated 1980, during the Olympic Games in Moscow. Good start! Our congratulations!

26 July, 2012  // Tomorrow, July 27, the opening ceremony of Olympic Games 2012 will be held in London. The Russian team is presented by 208 men and 228 women from 59 regions of the country. Russia will take part in all sports except football and lawn hockey. Good luck to Russian athletes at the Olympics!

22 July, 2012  // Yesterday, July 21, Vladimir Putin signed the law on Russia's accession into the World Trade Organization. The negotiations lasted for about 18 years. Transition periods for liberalization of access to the world market will be 2-3 years, and 5-7 years for the most sensitive sectors (auto industry, agriculture, agricultural machinery, light industry).

17 July, 2012  // In June 2012 the production of vodka in Russia broke a record for the last ten years, amounting to 96.1 million liters. It was caused by an increase of excise tax from July 1, 2012. Compared to June 2011, the production increased by 47%. In total, during the first half of this year 422.8 million liters of vodka were produced (17.3% increase).

12 July, 2012  // According to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Finance of Russia the surplus of federal budget in the first half of 2012 amounted to about 7.7 billion USD. In January-June 2011 the federal budget surplus amounted to 20 billion USD. Thus, in annual terms, the budget surplus was reduced by 2.6 times.

8 July, 2012  // Unexpected flooding that occurred on July 6-7 in Krasnodar krai killed at least 150 people mostly in small town of Krymsk. The water level in Krymsk region rose to 7 meters, entire villages were washed away. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that the flood occurred at night, when most people were asleep in their homes.

5 July, 2012  // According to the Central Bank of Russia the foreign debt of the country in January-June 2012 increased by 7.3% and amounted to $ 585.133 billion. Foreign debt of the government - $ 41.739 billion, debt of the banking sector - $ 173.929 billion, external debt of other sectors of the economy - $ 358.296 billion.
