28 September, 2012  // Google will block access to "Innocence of Muslims" film in Russia after receiving notice of the court. Today Grozny city court recognized this film extremist. Excellent example of the well-known adage about how to make mountains out of molehills.

26 September, 2012  // 500 days are left until the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 and in this regard the slogan of the Games was presented: "Hot Cool Yours". The slogan is rather controversial and it caused a strong reaction, and numerous parodies on the Russian web sites. For example, somebody figured out that this slogan would be good to advertise felt boots.

24 September, 2012  // In the night September 21-22, in St. Petersburg, the five millionth resident was born, according to the press-secretary of the governor of the city. St. Petersburg is the largest city in Europe, which is not the capital. In Soviet times, the five millionth resident was already born in 1988, but over the following years the population of the city has decreased dramatically.

19 September, 2012  // Russian authorities may block access to YouTube in the country, because it placed a trailer for an anti-Islamic film "The innocence of the Muslims." The site can be blocked at the beginning of November because of the entry into force of certain amendments to the laws on communications and information, said the Minister of Communications of Russia Nikolay Nikiforov.

17 September, 2012  // Large-scale military exercises "Caucasus-2012" starts in southern Russia. As usual the exercises concern Georgia and a number of Western countries. In total, the exercises will involve about 8 thousand people, more than 200 combat vehicles, 100 artillery pieces, as well as ten war ships and boats.

14 September, 2012  // State Duma has excluded its deputy Gennady Gudkov from the list of members. This is an unprecedented event in modern history of the Russian Parliament when the deputy is excluded by simple voting without the verdict of the court. It is definitely revenge for his oppositional activities.

10 September, 2012  // Last night, September 9, the closing ceremony of Paralympic Games was held in London. The Russian athletes achieved excellent results - 36 gold, 38 silver and 28 bronze medals. In the unofficial team standings the team finished second, after China's national team. Without a doubt, all participants of the Games are already winners.

8 September, 2012  // The 24th APEC summit, the meeting place of world leaders and businessmen, is being held in Vladivostok. It the most expensive APEC summit in history. The new complex of the Far Eastern Federal University on the Russky Island cost about USD 2.2 billion, cable-stayed bridge on the Russky Island - USD 1 billion, bridge over Zolotoy Rog Bay - USD 620 million.

4 September, 2012  // Russian football club from St. Petersburg "Zenith", which regularly makes the most expensive transfers in Russian football, has once again outdone itself. The team of Luciano Spalletti bought Hulk - the forward of FC "Porto". The sum of the transfer is about 60 million Euros. This is the fifth in value transfer in football history.

1 September, 2012  // Total cost of preparing for the APEC summit in Vladivostok is comparable to the cost of the Olympic Games in London. In preparation for the event Russia spent more than $ 16 billion. The summit will be held in Vladivostok from 2 to 9 September. Was it the best way to spend the money? Rhetorical question.
