Tomorrow, April 12, the world will mark the International Day of Human Space Flight, known as Cosmonautics Day in Russia.
About two weeks before that, March 26, 2014, Russian spacecraft “Soyuz TMA-12M” with two Russian cosmonauts (Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev) and one NASA astronaut (Steve Swanson) was launched from Baikonur cosmodrome to the International Space Station. Photos by Slava Stepanov

Church of the Savior on Blood in St. Petersburg was built in 1883-1907 to commemorate the fact that at this place, in 1881, as a result of the assassination, the Emperor Alexander II was mortally wounded. Height of the church is 81 meters.
It was built as a memorial to Alexander II of the money raised throughout Russia. This beautiful church, museum and architectural monument, is located in the historic center of St. Petersburg on the bank of the Griboyedov Canal near Mikhailovsky Garden. Photos by deletant

The Bridge to the Russky Island in Vladivostok

Russky Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge to the Russky Island across the Eastern Bosphorus Strait in Vladivostok. Construction of the bridge began September 3, 2008. It was the part of the city’s preparations for the APEC summit in 2012.
