Ufa, a city with a population of over one million people, is the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The city stands on the banks of the Belaya River, 1340 km east of Moscow.

Winter fairytale of the Kola Peninsula

The Kola Peninsula is a peninsula with a total area of about 100,000 sq. km located in the northwest of the European part of Russia, in the Murmansk region.
Almost the whole area is located above the Arctic Circle. On the north, it is washed by the waters of the Barents Sea, in the south and east – by the waters of the White Sea.

Magadan is a city and seaport on the Sea of Okhotsk, located in the northeastern part of Russia, in the Far East, the capital of Magadan oblast.
In Soviet times, it was the center of the industrial development of Kolyma – a historical region in north-eastern Russia, covering the upper reaches of the Kolyma River and the northern coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. Nature reserve “Stolby” – the main sight of Krasnoyarsk

The State Nature Reserve “Stolby” (“Pillars”) is located in the north-western spurs of the Eastern Sayan. From the northeast it borders the city of Krasnoyarsk. There is a city bus running to the reserve (the bus stop “Turbaza”).
The reserve was founded in 1925 on the initiative of Krasnoyarsk residents to preserve this beautiful natural complex. Today, the total area of the reserve is 47219 hectares.

Kuthiny Baty – amazing pumice cliffs in Kamchatka

Kuthiny Baty, a bizarre curtain of pumice cliffs, is a unique natural monument located about 4 kilometers from the source of the Ozernaya River (Lake Kurilskoye) in Kamchatka.
According to local legend, once, a wise raven Kutkh decided to dry his boats, and that’s why he placed them vertically on the bank of the river. But then he forgot about them, and the boats remained standing there forever.

Miniature St. Petersburg in Alexander Park

Alexander Park is a small, but very cozy park located between the Gorky Metro Station and the zoo in Saint Petersburg.

Kuandinsky Bridge over the Vitim River, located on the border of Zabaikalsky region and the Republic of Buryatia, is definitely one of the most dangerous road bridges in the world.
Construction of the bridge was not completed, although it had begun more than 30 years ago. Local residents and travelers cross it at their own risk.

The interiors of the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo

The Alexander Palace is one of the imperial palaces of Tsarskoye Selo (today, the town of Pushkin, part of St. Petersburg), located in the northern part of the Alexander Park. The palace was built by order of Empress Catherine II in 1792-1796.

Kamchatka is a peninsula located in the northeastern part of Eurasia in Russia. It is washed by the Sea of Okhotsk from the west, the Bering Sea and the Pacific Ocean from the east.
Volcanoes are the main attractions of Kamchatka. Volcanoes are even depicted on the flag and the coat of arms of the Kamchatka region and the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, as well as on most of souvenirs produced here.

The first snow in the village of Blagoveshchenye

Blagoveshchenye is a small village located near Sergiev Posad in the Moscow region. It is famous for its wooden church that gave its name to the village.
Church of the Annunciation was built in the center of the village at the end of the 17th century. This church is an interesting example of Russian wooden architecture, an important monument of culture and history. It is the oldest monument of wooden architecture of the 17th century in the region.
