Tobolsk Kremlin – the only stone fortress in Siberia

Tobolsk is a city located in the north of the Tyumen region, at the confluence of the Tobol and the Irtysh rivers, one of the most important centers of cultural tourism in Siberia.
It was founded as a center for the development of Siberia in 1587. Until the 18th century, Tobolsk remained a major military, administrative, political, and religious center.

Church of the Beheading of John the Baptist in Dyakovo is one of the two survived multi-pillar churches of the 16th century, an outstanding monument of Russian architecture.
The church is situated in the territory of Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve in the Southern Administrative District of Moscow. In the 16th century, the royal residence was located in this area.

The State Architectural-Ethnographic and Landscape Museum-Reserve “Kostroma Sloboda”, located in the city of Kostroma, is one of the oldest open-air museums in Russia.
The main territory of the museum is situated behind the southern wall of the Ipatiev Monastery. Another exposition area can be found behind the northern wall.

Belyaev Manor in the village of Voskresenskoye

Voskresenskoye is a small village with a population of about 6,000 people located 130 km north-east of Nizhny Novgorod, on the banks of the Vetluga River. Voskresenskoye is known since the 16th century as a trading village. Local residents were busy in agriculture and timber industry.
Let’s take a look at the estate built by Sergey Nikanorovich Belyaev, one of the main local timber merchants, in 1904-1905. Nilov Monastery on Lake Seliger

Nilov Monastery is an Orthodox monastery located on Stolobny Island and partly on Svetlitsa Peninsula, 10 km north of the town of Ostashkov, on Lake Seliger in the Tver region.
The monastery was named after Reverend Nilus Stolobensky born at the end of the 15th century. The magnificent monastery complex that you can see today was erected in the 18th-19th centuries. Moscow Kremlin 1700 is a graphical reconstruction of the Moscow fortress at the beginning of the 18th century. Engravings and plans made at the time, as well as more recent and modern reconstructions, were used to make these pictures.
