The world’s only five-turret Soviet tank T-35A

February 12, 2014, the only surviving tank T-35A drove under its own power for the restoration from the pavilion of Heavy armored vehicles of the Central Museum of Armored Vehicles.
T-35 is a Soviet heavy five-turret tank developed in 1931-1932 – the first Soviet heavy tank launched into mass production before the beginning of the Second World War.

Futuristic Soviet Assault Rifles

During the Soviet era, a lot of different and sometimes strange small arms were created. Nowadays, something is used worldwide, for example, Kalashnikov assault rifles. But some interesting firearms were almost forgotten.
Herman A. Korobov was one of the talented Soviet designers of small arms. Along with a number of other firearms, he was the author of these unique futuristic assault rifles created in the late 1950s – early 1960s.

Decommissioned Equipment of Russian Engineering Troops

Defense expenditures in Russia are growing every year (about 14-18% of the total expenditure of the budget). In 2012, these costs amounted to about 1865 billion rubles (62 billion USD).
Some of these funds are spent on the purchase of new equipment, weapons, warehousing of the equipment at military bases scattered throughout Russia.

Nowadays, theу Zubr-class military hovercraft of Soviet design is the world’s largest hovercraft.
Its main purpose is to sealift landing assault units (such as marines or tanks) to non-equipped shore like on this photo.

Explosions at military training ground in Samara region

Once again, on one of the military training grounds in Russia, this time located in Samara region, the shells exploded. The explosions at the test site near the town of Chapaevsk began on Tuesday evening. About 6,500 people were evacuated from the nearby Nagorny village to Chapaevsk.
Explosions rocked during disposing of ammunition. The total number of shells stored at the site was about 13 million. According to recent reports, one person died and 34 were injured in the blasts, because the explosions also hit the nearby highway.

Soviet missile-carrying ekranoplan “Lun”

The Soviet Union was spending most of its budget on various military purposes, sometimes creating projects with incredible technical characteristics.
In 1987, ekranoplan (ground effect aircraft) “Lun” was constructed – the first aircraft of the series of military missile-carrying ekranoplans weighing 400 tons.
It was armed with three pairs of cruise missiles. Volley of four such missiles is enough to destroy any ship, including the aircraft carrier.

Nizhny Tagil – the city with tanks on the streets

Last weekend one driver was nearly run over by the tank that was rushing at high speed across the highway.
