“Deep blue sea, light white foam” is a Soviet (Armenfilm) animated short captured by Robert Sahakyants in 1984. It is a musical fantasy on the themes of Armenian folk tales.
In spite of an ancient story, the cartoon is full with allusions to the modern realities. It is especially relevant in the contemporary Russian realities where the main values of many people are only money and power.

No comments · Posted by Alex Smirnov in Holidays, Video
The Day of Russia is celebrated every year since 1992 on the day when the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR (the name of Russia in the USSR) was adopted – June 12. On the same day, in 1991, the first elections of the president of the RSFSR were held. Boris Yeltsin, the first president of Russia, won the election.
The relation for this holiday in Russia is ambiguous. Some believe it was a negative event that hastened the collapse of the USSR. Also it should be mentioned that the majority of people in Russia don’t even know what this day is about, they just enjoy additional day off.

Extreme driving on Russian North
1 Comment · Posted by Alex Smirnov in People, Regions, Video
Russia is rich in deposits of various natural resources, but for the most part, they are located in wild and undeveloped areas of the Far North, Siberia and the Far East.
Driving a car or even a truck in these areas is very dangerous because of the lack of normal roads; drivers have to cross numerous rivers, etc. A lot of people died on these roads, the number of lost vehicles can’t be counted.
