Norilsk is a city located in northern part of Krasnoyarsk krai, about 90 km east of the Yenisei River. It is one of the most polluted cities in the world.

Environmental hazard for the population of the city and its surrounding areas is caused by the work of one of the world’s largest mining and, simultaneously, metal making plants.

Vozdvizhenka is an airbase located in Primorsky krai. A heavy bomber aviation regiment was deployed at the airbase armed with supersonic long-range strategic bombers Tupolev Tu-22M3.

In 2010, the regiment was disbanded, some aircraft were transferred to other airbases. The airframes of others are waiting to be cut for metal. The airfield is abandoned. Photos by KFSS.ru.

Boguchanskaya hydropower plant is being constructed on the Angara River (about 12 km from Kodinsk town and 740 km from Krasnoyarsk city). The construction of the station began in 1980 and was frozen from 1994 to 2005 due to lack of funds.

The spaceship named after Yuri Gagarin

Spacecraft Soyuz TMA-21with the crew of a new expedition to the International Space Station (ISS) is expected to be launched from 5 to 7 April from Baikonur. The crew of spacecraft consists of Russian cosmonauts Alexander Samokutyaev and Andrei Borisenko, and NASA astronaut Ronald Garan.

In honor of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight (April 12), the spaceship was named after the first cosmonaut of the Earth. You can learn much more about what it’s like to fly into space by visiting SpaceFeelings.com

Novosibirsk museum of railway equipment named after N.A.Akulinin is located in Sovetsky district of Novosibirsk oblast, near railway station Seyatel, on the road from Novosibirsk city to Akademgorodok.

The museum has a large collection of steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and wagons, mostly working on the railways in Western Siberia. The photos were captured by Victor Borisov.

Kursk Magnetic Anomaly

Kursk Magnetic Anomaly (Kursk oblast) is the most massive in the world iron ore basin. There are deposits of about 200-210 billion tons, accounting for about 50% of iron ore reserves on the planet. The inflatable power of Russian army

According to one of the aspects of modernization of Russian army it will receive numerous inflatable dummy war machines of all types to confuse the possible enemy. The officials say it is almost impossible to find the difference even at the distance of about 100 meters.
