The magnificent abandoned church of Kurba village
1 Comment · Posted by Sergei Rzhevsky in Architecture, Photos, Religion
Kurba is an old Russian village of Yaroslavl oblast situated 20 km southwest of Yaroslavl on the open high place on the right bank of the river Kurbitsy. The main attraction of the village is the Church of Kazan Mother of God Icon.
This is interesting in its architecture building. The masters, who built this church, were inspired by the motifs of baroque combining them with traditional methods of Yaroslavl architecture of the 17th century. The photos by av_otus.
