Tutaev is a small town with the population of about 40,000 located in Yaroslavl oblast of Russia. The settlement was first time mentioned in the year of 1370. Today the town is the part of famous Golden Ring of Russia and is known as the “Volga River gem”. The photos were captured by Maxim Yashin.

The accident happened yesterday (May 20) with the new bridge across the Volga river situated in Vologograd city. The bridge was opened in October 2009 and it is one of the longest and most complicated structures of such types in Russia. All the traffic was immediately stopped.

According to the eyewitnesses accounts the amplitude of fluctuations was about 2 meters. There is no information if the bridge was damaged and if it is possible to reopen it.

The weathering pillars is a unique geological monument located on the plateau of Man’-Pupu-Ner in Troitsko-Pechorsky district of Komi Republic of Russia. The geological monument is the composition of seven pillars with the height of 30 to 42 meters.

The pillars appeared as the result of ancient mountains erosion. There are numerous legends about the pillars among the local people. The weathering pillars geological monument is one of the winners of Seven Wonders of Russia contest.
