“Norilsk Nickel” – the largest mining and smelting company

“Norilsk Nickel” is the largest in Russia and one of the largest companies in the world for the production of precious and base metals.
Polar division of the enterprise is located in the Norilsk industrial district on the Taimyr Peninsula in the Krasnoyarsk region, which lies entirely within the Arctic Circle.
Norilsk is a city in the north of the Krasnoyarsk region, 90 km east of the Yenisei River. It is the second largest city in the world located in the Arctic Circle after Murmansk.

Talnakhskoye deposit. “Taimyr” mine. The deepest mine shaft reaches a depth of 1,532 meters.
Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant named after B.I. Kolesnikov. It is the place where extracted and enriched ore comes.
“Norilsk Nickel” produces about 50% of palladium, 20% of nickel, 20% of platinum, over 10% of cobalt, 3% of copper in the world.
