Exploring of an abandoned mine that was suspended for years
The maximum depth of this abandoned mine shaft located somewhere in Russia reaches 880 meters. The mine is not functioning for several years and is suspended.
All the entrances and ventilation trunks are either concreted or sealed with steel “stoppers.” However, there are people for whom this is not an obstacle. Photos by Vadim Mahorov.

Hi, that’s a fantastic looking mine. The first photo looks a bit unsafe with the collapsed rotting timber. I especially like the artistic nature of the last photo with what I assume is copper and iron minerals. A pity the photos weren’t larger in size so we could see finer detail. I have been in one local mine, but it was just a straight tunnel with no equipment. Did you visit the mine yourself?
