28 February, 2013  // The Federal Migration Service announced the results of its estimates of illegal migrants living in Russia. According to them, about 3.3 million of foreigners exceeded the period of legal stay in the country (three months). Most of them are from Uzbekistan (about 900,000), Ukraine (more than 500,000), Tajikistan (400,000). According to estimates of the service, there are 10.2 million foreign nationals living in Russia today.

23 February, 2013  // The visit of the Russian delegation to Cuba was extremely productive - especially for Cubans. Russia forgave the Cuban debt in the amount of $ 35 billion - the sum Cuba owed to the Soviet Union. The amount of the Cuban debt write-off is the most generous in the modern history of Russia. In total, the Russian forgiven debt all over the world is about $ 138 billion now.

15 February, 2013  // Powerful explosion has happened in the sky over Chelyabinsk today morning. According to the officials, it was the result of a meteor rain. About 500 people sought medical attention mostly injured by fragments of broken glass. A bright flash was seen over the entire region, including Ekaterinburg and Tyumen. 7 February, 2013  // February 7, in Moscow, Olympic countdown clock has been set off, counting the time left to the start of the Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi. The clock is installed in the center of the capital, on Manezh Square. Today similar countdown clocks have been set off in eight other cities in Russia: St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Khabarovsk, Pyatigorsk, and Sochi.

2 February, 2013  // Today historic date is celebrated in Russia. 70 years ago, the Battle of Stalingrad ended with the victory of the Soviet troops. It was the largest land battle in the Second World War, one of the German armies surrendered for the first time. It is estimated that the total loss of both sides in the battle is over two million people. The battle, which became one of the turning points in the war, lasted 200 days.
