Rybinsk city is located in Yaroslavl oblast of Russia and has the population of about 207,000. Rybinsk received its coat of arms, present name and status of the city in 1777. The name can be translated as “The fish city”. Rybinsk is known for the preserved architectural monuments of the late 18th – early 20th century. Ancient Russian town of Uglich

Uglich is one of the towns of famous Russian Golden Ring tourist route located in Yaroslavl oblast. A lot of  monuments of Russian architecture remained in the town. The pictures were captured by Maxim Yashin (the photos are clickable).

The window frames of Myshkin town

Myshkin is a small town with the population about 5,700 located in Yaroslavl oblast. The name of the town is derived from Russian word “myshka” meaning little mouse.

The town is known first of all for its unique and the only in the world Museum of Mouse. But today we will look at another attraction of Myshkin – beautiful window frames. The photos were captured by Ivan Hafizov. Second part of the photos devoted to Kostroma city window frames.

Nikitsky monastery is among the most ancient monasteries of Russia. The monastery is located near the town of Pereslavl-Zalessky, Yaroslavl oblast. Poshekhonye is a small town with the population of about 6,500 (2010) located in Yaroslavl oblast of Russia. The town is situated 151 km to the northwest of Yaroslavl city. The settlement was first time mentioned in 1680 and from 1777 has the status of the town. Here are the photos of Poshekhonye town captured by Maxim Yashin in April 2009.
