Moscow Kremlin in 1700

Moscow Kremlin 1700 is a graphical reconstruction of the Moscow fortress at the beginning of the 18th century. Engravings and plans made at the time, as well as more recent and modern reconstructions, were used to make these pictures.

By the beginning of the 18th century, the architectural ensemble of the Moscow Kremlin was completed, and the fortress received a recognizable look. You can see several undamaged buildings that later came to decay. Pictures by: Moscow Kremlin 1700.

In recent years, a lot new churches were built in Russia. Of course not all of them are interesting from an architectural point of view, but there are pleasant exceptions.

For example, take a look at the Church of the Holy Prince Igor of Chernigov located in the suburban village of Peredelkino in Moscow.

Dolgoprudny is a town with a population of about 97,000 people located in Moscow region, in the vicinity of Moscow. In the south and east the town almost merges with the northern outskirts of Moscow.

Relatively recently, in 1997-2003, a beautiful church was built here – the Church of the Kazan Icon of Our Lady.

Cubism theme from the previous post about the Russian army has received an unexpected continuation. The trend has gone further and has already reached the very heart of Russia – Red Square in Moscow.

Because of restoration work, Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin, for the first time in modern history, has become a constructivist object. Red Square looks very unusual now. Also, New Year’s Fair is held in the square these days. The photos were taken by periskop
