Roma 12 aprile.

It's a shame, true shame.
What a destruction and neglect with no respect to the heritage and culture of all civilised people, regardless the nationality.
Perhaps those russian barbarians should go and see how old prussian cities like Breslau or Danzig were beautifully restored in Poland after criminal devastation laid upon them by russians during WWII.

I'm italian and I know the awful destiny of this region. This ruins and their history are quite unknow in Europe, why nobody cares about the prussian and teutonic heritage? This question isn't having nothing to do with german claims (I'm italian) nor political reviosionism (I'm not a nazi) but it is related to love for history and architecture. Russians you must save these architectural tresures! Do it for yourself and for all europeans like you! You will be remembered as rescuers and caretakers certainly not as barbarians.

My wife was born in Koenigsberg in 1927 and fled the Red Army in 1944. After the collapse of the S.U. in 1990 I took her on a bus tour of Kaliningrad Oblask. When she saw the ruins remaining after 45 years total neglect under the communist regime she burst into tears.
One must be fair and say that the new generation of Russians have done much rebuilding and restoration work in Kaliningrad city during the past ten years. Kaliningrad province sadly has degenerated to being the poor house of Europe.

these pictures really really upset me as well. But probably you don't know what Nazis did to the royal mansions around St. Petersburg (Leningrad back then) and how much effort it took to revive totally devastated palaces which looked like these pictures.
I hate bolsheviks though. Believe me with their ugly urban planning ideas they destroyed not only German but also many Russian cities :\

It didnt "turn into sh!t but rather was Sh@t upon. Most of the elimination of the German presence in East Prussia was as a result of deliberate action on the part of the Soviets from '45 thru '49.

Horrible! Disastrous!

Such a wonderful architecture. Used to be "The Pearl of Europe". Homeland of Immanual Kant. Cultural heritage of centuries.

I just wonder why is it so that anything the rooshuns lay their hands onto turns into shi*t.
